A c is a credit card to provide affordable credit for farmers in India. It was started by the Government of India, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), and National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (NABARD) in 1998-99 to help farmers access timely and adequate credit.

KCC scheme implemented during the year 1994 has been modified by RBI/Govt. on recommendations of a Working Group to review the Scheme (Chairman Sh. TM Bhasin) w.e.f. May 12, 2012.

Applicability:
Implement by Commercial Banks, and Cooperatives.

Activities Covered:
Short term credit requirements for cultivation of crops, post harvest expenses, product marketing loan, consumption requirements of farmer household, working capital for maintenance of firm assets and activities allied to agriculture, like dairy animals, inland fishery etc. and investment credit requirement for agriculture and allied activities like pump sets, sprayers, dairy animals etc.

Eligibility:
i. Farmers-Individuals/Joint borrowers (owner cultivators)
ii. Tenant Farmers, Oral Lessees & Share Croppers
iii. SHGs or Joint Liability Groups of Farmers including tenant farmers, share croppers etc.
